A source close to Nicole Richie has revealed that the 'Simple Life' star, who is said to be pregnant with beau Joel Madden's child, is hoping that pregnancy will keep her out of the slammer.
The Simple Life star was arrested for driving under influence on December 11, 2006."Nicole is kind of hoping her pregnancy will keep her out of jail," New York Post quoted the source, as saying.
Richie's friends are worried that she might be unable to carry the baby because of her weight.
"(Everyone is) wondering if she can carry the baby to term because of her weight issues," she said.
Also, rumours have it that Richie is engaged to Madden after she was seen sporting a huge diamond ring.
