This new rule comes as a big relief to pet owners, which will make life much easier for them as well as to their pocket, resulting in savings of Ģ7mn in fees.

Dog owners must take note that their pets must be vaccinated and microchipped against rabies and a blood test is compulsory 30 days after vaccination and 90 days before they intend to travel from non-EU unlisted countries to EU countries.

Thanks to the scientific progress made in vaccines against rabies, it is now not required to force pets to spend six months in quarantine.
