Models Sonalika Sahay and Lakshmi Rana flagged off the rally.

"We are having the cycle rally today to have the Earth Hour today from 8:30 p.m onwards which is to shut off all the lights. This is basically working towards the environment," said Lakshmi Rana.

Rana further said that that apart from waking up early in the morning and coming here, people should also make efforts in shutting off lights on March 26 from 8:30 to 9:30 pm.

Meanwhile, Sonalika Sahay also said that people must take the initiative of turning off the lights on March 26, so as to give this cause a boost and save energy.

The other participants in the rally included models, students from schools and colleges, executives from corporate sectors and even homemakers.

Earth Hour is an initiative where people around the globe show their support for action on climate change by turning off lights for one hour.

It's good that people are starting to be aware and are now starting to raise awareness how important it is to save energy. Hopefully, each one will do his or her own part in helping the environment.
