In a first of its kind approach, a National Conference on Sexology is to be hosted in Chennai on September 3.
The conference is to be jointly organized by the Council of Sex Education and Parenthood International (CSEPI), Indian Andropause Society (IAS) and Andrology India. While the conference will touch on tried and tested topics like premature ejaculation and problematic orgasms, other topics like temple erotica, gadgets for sex therapy, food and sex and sex and sanskar will also be examined.
CSEPI chairman Dr D Narayana Reddy said the idea behind the conference was not only to update medical knowledge, but also to spread awareness through lively discussions. "The conference is designed to cater to the immediate needs of healthcare professionals. It will be considered as a continuing medical education programme and participants will get 13.5 credit points," he said.
It is also expected that the conference will submit a request to the Union health ministry to include a postgraduate course in sexology in medical colleges. Around 250 delegates are expected to attend this conference.
