NYC Nightclubs to Introduce 'Makeout Booth' to Promote Safe Sex

A leading condom company is on the verge of introducing the "Makeout Booth” in New York nightclubs, in a bid to promote safe sex.

The updated version of the condom-dispensing machine and the photo booth is being launched by LifeStyles condom company.

The "Makeout Booth,” that will soon be seen in many New York hot spots, works by dispensing pictures and prophylactics.

"Condom-dispensing machines have always been a nightlife fixture," New York Daily News quoted LifeStyles spokeswoman Carol Carrozza, as saying.

"LifeStyles is essentially combining the concept of a condom dispenser with a black-and-white photo booth as a playful means to promote safe sex,” she added.

The machines are expected to be unveiled on Jan 24 at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

Carrozza said that the contraptions, with the throwback flimsy curtain to provide booth privacy, are not meant to be a convenient pit stop for a quickie.

"We don't mind a little snuggling and that kind of thing, but there won't be too much more going on right there," Carrozza said.
