Menstrual Period Pain can be Alleviated by Oral Contraceptive Pill
Nearly 50 to 75% of young women suffer painful periods which causes them to be absent from school or work.

Menstrual period pain, medically termed as dysmenorrhoea can completely throw women off gear during those times in the month.

A recent study conducted by scientists has pointed out that the combined oral contraceptive pill can relieve pain during menstrual periods.

Lead researcher Dr Ingela Lindh, from Gothenburg University, said: "We found that combined oral contraceptive use reduced dysmenorrhoea by 0.3 units, which means that every third woman went one step down from severe pain to moderate pain, and which meant that they suffered less pain, improved their working ability and there was a decrease in the need for analgesics.”
