 Melatonin-Based Drinks Adversely Affect Health
A number of doctors have warned the general public from regularly consuming melatonin-based drinks can lead to adverse effects on the body.

Drinks such as RelaxZen, iChill and Drank contain melatonin and are marketed as relaxation drinks to teens and adults alike. Such drinks are very powerful and often a small amount produces a knockout effect.

However a number of doctors and health personnel warn that regularly consuming such drinks can imbalance the body functions.

"Melatonin is a hormone. Hormones should not be put in beverages, since the amount people drink often depends on thirst and taste rather than being taken only when needed like any other drug", said Dr Charles Czeisler, who is a sleep expert with Harvard medical school.
