Many Workers Drink to Relieve Stress
A survey conducted for the Government's Know Your Limits campaign in the UK has found that many workers are turning to alcohol to beat stress.

The survey found that 51% of workers who drink do so to beat stress, while 18% do so to keep up with their colleagues.

Workers in the entertainment and the media industries were the biggest drinkers consuming at least 44 pints or four bottles of wine per week.

"Alcohol is easy to use as a means to de-stress, but the reality is there are much better ways to wind down, such as taking a warm bath," said Colin Shevills, Director of Balance, the North East of England's alcohol office.

Typically men must drink just 3-4 units per day, while women may consume 2-3 pints of alcohol per day as per the NHS.
