Rocker Courtney Love has revealed that her recent weight loss was not a result of macrobiotic diet, but meal replacement shakes and a lock on the fridge.

The former Hole singer, who shed 44 pounds in four months, said that the macrobiotic diet plans, given to her by Gwyneth Paltrow's chef, made her gain 40 to 50 pounds.

"I gained 40 to 50 pounds on macrobiotic food," People quoted Love, as saying.

Love, who credited a good diet and yoga for the weight loss, has now admitted that she tried to follow Paltrow's healthy example, and adopted a macrobiotic diet to lose weight.

"At the time I had Gwyneth's cook who does macro food. I thought, it can't make me fat – he's Gwyneth's cook! [But] I saw those pictures and thought 'Oh my God!' 182 lbs. does not look good on me. Nothing fit,” she said.

Love discarded her macrobiotic diet and adopted a strict no carbohydrate one instead. She also put a lock on her refrigerator to ensure that she stuck to her strict diet regimen.

"I put the non-Photoshopped pictures on my fridge and had a lock fixed on it. My daughter Frances has her carbs in one drawer. I don't know where it is. I drink shakes and exercise my [butt] off. Isopure, no carbs – two shakes and one meal: fish. Fish and broccoli really does work!" she said.
