American actress Lindsay Lohan's father Michael Lohan has admitted to having taken a DNA test to confirm whether or not he has fathered a lovechild.
Lohan told Star magazine last week that he may have fathered a child with Kristi Kaufmann.
Now, he's given a DNA test, and in a matter of a couple of weeks he will now whether or not he is the father of a 13-year-old girl named Ashley.
"I've seen pictures and, to tell the truth, there are similarities with Linds," New York Daily News quoted him as saying after the news broke last week that he may be Ashley's father.
"Kaufmann said she believed the child was mine and stated that I was the only man she was with," he said.
"I find it hard to believe because she has had three other relationships since that time and is going through another divorce now," he stated.
Lohan, who is 48-years-old and divorced from Lindsay's mother, Dina, revealed that he had met the woman in Houston, Tex. in 1982, and that even though he is eager to learn the results of the paternity test he isn't exactly optimistic.
"I have some serious doubts after investigating Kristi's background," he added about his estranged former lover.
The DNA test is reportedly being sent to an accredited lab and results are usually 99.9 percent accurate.
