Lil Wayne Says 'I Am a Rapper'
American rapper Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., a.k.a. Lil Wayne has revealed that he is a fan of marijuana and that he still uses the illegal drug for medicinal purposes.

Wayne, who has been arrested twice in the past three years on drug possession charges, with the most recent arrest being in January 2008, let out during a pre-Grammy Awards TV special that he uses the drug for his migraines.

As per his saying, he still smokes marijuana to help combat migraines "that make me wanna just kill myself."

"I will stand up for marijuana any day... I'm a rapper. That's who I am... and I am a gangster and I do what I want. And I love to smoke. And I smoke," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

But he insists that he has weaned himself off his other vice - the potentially fatal mix of codeine and promethazine, otherwise known in the hip-hop community as 'syrup.'

"I am not addicted to it anymore," he added.
