Letter Carriers Collect 125,000 Pounds of Food
The Stamp Out Hunger postal food drive in St Charles county has proved to be a big hit as letter carriers have collected more than 125,000 pounds of donated food.
Justin Wood, associate minister at Mid Rivers Christian Church in St. Peters told the Suburban Journals that he was delighted with the success of the drive. Postal trucks are not only carrying mail, they are also bringing in donated food by the truckload.

"This shows Christ's love in a practical way," Wood said. "It is the community of believers coming together to help people who are struggling." With the ongoing recession, the need for food has also grown.

Last week letter carriers distributed handouts to people informing them about the drive. The response as Mr Wood says, has been overwhelming.
