'King of Pop' Reigns Again: Jackson's £150M Comeback Gig In London

by Tanya Thomas on Mar 5 2009 10:41 AM

The man who was once known as the "King of Pop" will soon take his rightful on the London stage. Reports are suggesting that Michael Jackson will be making a 150 million pounds comeback with 30 gigs in the Brit capital.

Jackson, 50, who has contracted an MRSA-type bug, is said to be desperate to revive his flagging career, and hopes the string of concerts will bail him out.

The 'Thriller' star is said to be in "advanced talks" with the O2 arena to stage the shows, which are expected to earn him five million pounds each.

"It is only at discussion stage but if it comes off it will be amazing," the Sun quoted a spokeswoman for his agents, the Outside Organisation, as saying.

Sources have revealed that the shows, scheduled for July, will be Jackson's last attempt at being a global star again.

"It's his last chance to hit the jackpot so he can pay a large slice of his debts. Michael feels enough time has passed for the public to forgive the scandals," a source added.
