Jodie Foster Insisits on Gun Prohibition In U.S
Actress Jodie Foster has launched an attack against America's abundance of firearms by insisting on a prohibition on the use of guns in the US.

The 'Silence of the Lambs' star insists that guns should not exist, even though they are a huge part of the American culture.

"I don't believe that any gun should be in the hand of a thinking, feeling, and breathing human being," Contactmusic quoted Foster, as saying.

"Americans are by nature filled with rage-slash-fear. And guns are a huge part of our culture.

"I know I'm crazy because I'm only supposed to say that in Europe. But violence corrupts absolutely," she added.

Foster is playing the role of an urban vigilante in the new flick 'The Brave One'.

Does anyone know what kind of caliber the gun was used in the movie?

I am bipolar and I do not own a gun nor do I want one.

A documentary needs to be written about the mentally ill with guns. This is a NO.

Ya, sure, lets just leave the guns to criminals, governments, and secret police. Who knows, maybe they'll be benevolent... (ya right...)

Typical of Hollywood stars with private security and bodyguards that the rest of us can't afford. What gets me also is they star in movies where they use guns and act out violence. Hypocrites, they need to walk to talk.

Ms. Foster has been living in Hollywoodland since she was a child. She can afford a level of security that most of us can only imagine. If Ms. Foster wishes to eschew the use of firearms, she is welcome to do so, but she has NO right to destroy the most basic right of every human being-the right to defend their life. She proves that intelligence and common sense do not always exist in the same brain.

OK, Jodie, how about this: YOU FIRST. In fact, all of hollywood first. That means no more security details for you and your kind, the "elitist" actor community that seems to know what is best for all of us. Then, you and the rest of your hollywood brethren move out of your secluded mansions and live out here in our world, you know, THE REAL ONE where everybody has to work real jobs, go home late at night and walk the streets amongst the general populace as we do... Spend a couple of years out here with us, Jodie and see how we have to live. In fact, try an experiment: Have an anonymous friend buy a house in a normal neighborhood, call the police and tell them any name but your own, and say that someone is prowling around your lawn trying to look in windows. Time the police response if you even get one. Then go back to Jodieville and call again, giving your real name. Bet you get a different response.....

No, like many who lean Left, Ms. Foster does not consider police officers and soldiers to be thinking, feeling, breathing human beings. That's why many people who lean Left have long referred to them as _pigs_ and _baby-killers_. That's why they consider cops' lives to be less valuable than the lives of the street criminals they arrest. Likewise, an intelligent actor such as herself might hire an armed bodyguard -- but she'd never have dinner with one. And what would handcuffing the police with counterproductive restrictions have accomplished if ordinary private citizens are to be allowed to protect _themselves_ from the victims of society who rob them?

Hard to take Ms. Foster's position serious as she reaps the reward for portraying gun toting characters. Can you say hypocrite?

Jodie Foster misses entirely the point of her own movie. Had she or her boyfriend had a concealed handgun, the boyfriend might not have been killed and Jodie's character beaten and raped. Her whole descent into a killing machine could have been prevented. Her assailants didn't use guns (the trailers show). So what would disarming law-abiding citizens caught in real incidents such as portrayed in her movie, where the blood is real, not fake? Buffoonery.
