Troubled singer Amy Winehouse has fled to the Caribbean after being told that she could not play a surprise gig for her hubby in jail.
The 24-year-old singer was desperate to enliven jailed Blake Civil-Fielder with a New Year's Eve concert.
But her plans were ruined by the bosses at Pentonville Prison - where Blake is on remand for alleged trial rigging.
A source has revealed that after the 'Rehab' singer was given a no signal for performing at jail she decided to escape to Caribbean.
"Amy was desperate to see Blake for New Year's. When she was refused, she decided it was time to get away," the News of the World quoted the source, as saying.
A source close to Winehouse's family said: "She's been under so much stress recently and she really needed to get away."
"Blake's situation has been driving her mad. It's going to be hard, but she's got to switch off," the source added.
