In yet another kidney racket case, cops have busted an inter-state kidney business and arrested five persons on Sunday. Task force investigators have also seized 3 cellphones and one hard disk from the perpetrators.

Police said they received a tip and proceeded to arrest Dasari Sudershan Yadav of Timmapurpet, Raichur, Athkuri Srinivasu of Kothapet, Bellina Sai Kumar of Pragathi Nagar, Kukatpally, Eppa Jayaram Reddy of Radha Residency, Vinay Nagar Colony, Saidabad and Turaka Pichaiah of Vinayak Nagar, Film Nagar, from Amaravathi lodge at Punjagutta.

DCP (task force) V B Kamalasan Reddy revealed that these brokers search hospitals for dialysis patients and then broker a deal for a new kidney with poor people.

"Kidney donor's remuneration ranges between Rs 1.2 lakh and Rs 1.75 lakh, while the broker's commission varies from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1.25 lakh, depending upon the type of service rendered," Kamalasan Reddy said, adding the gang was implicated in 23 cases at nine hospitals.
