India's frozen egg cell baby was born in Chennai on Wednesday in what is yet another breakthrough for methods of artificial reproduction in the country.
Kamal Selvaraj, a doctor from GG Hospital, Chennai said, " If a woman is suffering from cancer then she can preserve her egg cell before going in for chemotherapy and can use it once she is recovered from her cancer. Chemotherapy can kill egg cells."

Sometimes the embryo transfer in done at the blastocyst stage on Day 5. The embryo is drawn into a specialized catheter along with a small amount of culture medium and is transferred to the uterus.
