Organizing secretary of the 3day Congress Dilip Kumar Agarwalla said, "There are around 15 lakh to 20 lakh cancer cases at any given point of time in India and the number is expected to increase five times by the year 2025.Cancer is one of the ten leading cases of death in the country. Primary prevention of cancer by health education is important. People should be educated regarding the hazards of tobacco consumption for prevention of oral cancer and the necessity of genital hygiene for prevention of cervical cancer. More attention should be paid towards secondary prevention like early detection and diagnosis of cancer.
