Constantly using pain relievers can drastically increase the risk of erectile dysfunction, a group of researchers at the Kaiser Permanente Southern California said.
Drugs such as aspirin and ibuprofen are regularly used to relieve pain and are classed as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
AdvertisementHowever the researchers said that regularly using such drugs for three times a day increased the risk of impotence by more than 22 percent.
"Regular non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug use is associated with erectile dysfunction beyond what would be expected due to age and other conditions", lead researcher Steve Jacobsen wrote in the report published in the Journal of Urology.
