How Good are Home Health Tests?

How Good are Home Health Tests?
Consumer experts are disappointed with home health tests, which are deficient in the information provided and may not be as accurate as  they claim to be.  The results of home health tests can  either cause unwarranted panic or  create false reassurance.  It is better people visit health practitioners rather than go for the home health test kits.
Peter Vicary-Smith, chief executive of Which?, said: “Self-test health kits could be a useful tool, but the lack of clear information about how to use them could do more harm than good. As your GP may well have to carry out their own tests to confirm a positive diagnosis anyway, you may be better off saving your money and going straight to your GP.”

The  information provided on the packaging and leaflets of some of the tests was also found to be inadequate.
