High-precision Liposuction may Avoid Weight Gain
New liposuction procedures that are highly precise can avoid the weight gain seen in patients after conventional liposuction. This is a new area of cosmetic surgery and could in fact be the future of this segment.

"Muscle defining liposuction can give new shapes to people who never dreamed it was possible. We can sculpt a six-pack abdomen without any side effects and can also sculpt curves for figure-conscious females. Even attaining size zero is possible with high precision liposuction," said Dr Karthik a cosmetic surgeon with Kumaran Hospital.

Earlier, only deep liposuction was performed, which meant that if the patient discontinued the recommended diet, fat deposition was seen in the area that had undergone liposuction.

"Most patients can go home on the same day as that of the surgery. The patient is supposed to wear pressure garments for about six weeks," Dr Kartik said. This procedure can be a boon for the morbidly obese individuals.
