H1N1 Vaccination Starts in Right Earnest
Health Minister MRK Panneerselvam on Monday kicked off a drive to start H1N1 vaccination at the KING Institute of Preventive Medicine, Guindy.
The camp got a good response with hundreds of people turning up to get vaccinated. Around 300 people were vaccinated yesterday busing two indigenous vaccines named Nasovac and Vaxiflu.

P. Gunasekharan, deputy director, KING Institute of Preventive Medicine said that the institute was hoping to set up a toll free number so that people who want to get vaccinated can get appointments. People who get vaccinated will be given a card certifying the same.

β€œIt may soon become a requirement for travel; airports authorities may demand it prior to travel. To have such a card will be handy,” Dr. Gunasekharan added.

The two vaccines are available at subsidized cost in Guindy. Nasovacis priced at Rs.150, and Vaxifl is priced at Rs. 250.
