Government Plans Heart Conference For Doctors And Patients
Government is organizing a two-day conference for the members of the health sector. The conference mainly focuses on sharing information about various aspects of heart disease including prevention and treatment of heart disease.

Medical Director Peter Moodie says that the conference aims in addressing the concerns at primary care level.

"Everyone at the conference knows what the issue is - that heart disease is a major killer in New Zealand," Pharmac medical director Peter Moodie said.

"We are all working to address this issue at different levels. This conference will focus on how to address the issue in primary care."

The conference is also planning to provide the healthcare workers with sufficient information and tool that will aid them in the assessment and treatment of cardiovascular diseases in a much better and efficient way.
