Replacing the traditional method of angioplasty through the femoral artery in the groin, British cardiac surgeons now perform heart surgery through the radial artery in the wrist.
The incision taken is very small, the surgery is less painful and requires less hospitalization of the patient. There are fewer chances of complications and the surgery is relatively safe. However surgeons performing this operation are very limited.
