The Gay Family Web Facility Centre in Birmingham has been started to help same-sex couples have children. The main objective of this centre is to help same-sex couples locate sperm and egg donors or surrogates and offer advice about starting a family.

Drew and Smith are parents to a six-year-old daughter and two-year-old son, both by sperm donors.

Christian groups have not taken this well and say that bringing up children in such an environment, far removed from the conventional family structure, can hamper their development.
