Fake Doc Peddling Turtle Blood Medicines Held

Hotibhai Dhramsi Patel, a 41-year-old self-styled doctor was arrested by the Kandivili police who had help from officials of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Patel had raked up quite some money by fooling people. When his so-called clinic was raided most medicines that were seized turned out to be steroids, police revealed.


Patel is in police custody till June 17. He has been arrested under the Maharashtra Medical Protection Act.

“Patel is just an SSC pass-out,” senior inspector Surendrakumar Jaiswal said. “After completing his schooling, he began working with a surgeon in Gujarat where he picked up a few basic medical terms and techniques. As he used steroids, patients got a sudden boost after taking the medicines and felt energetic. This earned him a positive feedback in the area.”
