Mark Wattson, from Lower Stratton, near Swindon in the UK, suffered from a ruptured appendix a month after he thought it was removed in an operation.
Mr Wattson collapsed after the organ ruptured and later said he thought the organ was removed following a "first" appendectomy on July 7 after which doctors assured him that the surgery went well.
"I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I told these people I had my appendix out just four weeks earlier but there it was on the screen for all to see," Wattson told the Swindon Advertiser. "I thought 'What the hell did they slice me open for in the first place?'."
He was readmitted at the Great Western Hospital and underwent another surgery on August 9.
