Consumer support group Which? has asked people to check the ingredients of the so-called natural beauty products whilst shopping. This is because some of the ingredients used in the so-called green products can trigger allergies.

Claire Lilley, senior policy adviser at Which? said that most natural beauty products were packaged beautifully, but contained the same ingredients as other products, which were cheap as well.

"You quite often see women in supermarkets reading the label and being much more savvy about the food that they buy. The same thing applies to what you are putting on your face," she said.

She also admitted that the chemical jargon used on the packs may be difficult to understand.
