Euthanasia Should be Legalized, Say a Panel of Canadian Researchers

A team of researchers selected by the Royal society of Canada to study end-of-life care has pressed for the legalization of euthanasia or assisted suicide.

They have also stressed that assisted suicide should not be labeled as murder by the criminal code.

Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide Opposed by UK Doctors
UK doctors appear to consistently oppose euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide (PAS), a review of research carried out over 20 years suggests.

The panel has proposed that people who are battling chronic illness and are in severe pain with no respite should have a choice to select death within a medical system and doctors should be permitted to help patients end their life.

The report has put forth a system based on other countries that have legalized euthanasia where it is possible for patients to ask for euthanasia or assisted suicide.
