Sassoon General Hospital has been chosen to be the coordinator in disaster management Pune following the German Bakery blasts. the Hospital was choosen by a team of experts from the Centre of Disease Control (CDC), Atlanta, USA.
Dr Arun Jamkar, Dean, B J Medical College and Sassoon General hospital said that the move was part of the Indo-US initiative and that the team from CDC had held a meeting with private hospitals in the city at BJ Medical College.
AdvertisementDr Isaac Eskanzy, member of CDC, and a leader of one of the EMS systems in Israel, spoke of the role of bystanders and how best they would be able to handle the situation. Dr Sagar Galvankar, member of CDC, reviewed measured that could improve the response to such situations.
The meeting was also attended by fire brigade personnel and officials of Pune Municipal Corporation´┐Żs health department.
