Determination Drives Disabled Man to Build Lift for His Fifth Floor House
This is a story of a former sky diver and rock climber from Russia, Dmitry Bibikow, who is bound to his wheel chair following an accident that took place during one of his rock climbing endeavours.
Despite his condition, he was allotted an apartment on the fifth floor of a building which had no elevator. The council authorities had promised that an elevator would be installed soon.

Six years went by and it was a real ordeal for him to come out of his home as he had to wait for someone to carry him up and down each time.

Finally, out of sheer desperation, he designed his own lift to the side of the building which is capable of carrying him up and down the building in minutes. He feels liberated and free and is indeed a happy man.
