Dame Shirley Bassey was rushed to hospital for an emergency stomach operation, it has emerged.
The 71-year-old was admitted to a Monaco hospital last week after suffering from abdominal pains in the night, reports BBC.
However, Bassey's spokesman Paul Carey said the singer was "making a good recovery and doctors are happy with her progress".
The Welsh singer is expected to get well in time to perform at Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday concert in London's Hyde Park next month.
Bassey's hits include the James Bond songs 'Goldfinger', 'Diamonds Are Forever' and 'Moonraker', along with 'Big Spender' and 'History Repeating'.
