In this allotment system, all MCI recognized Medical & Dental colleges (except in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Jammu &Kashmir) participate. First round of seat allotment for the MBBS/BDS courses start on 15th June 2007 and will end on 26th June, 07.

Till last year, the counseling for the seats was done by personal appearance before the counseling committee constituted for this purpose in New Delhi. From this year onwards, it had been decided to conduct counseling through video conference connecting Delhi, Puducherry and Kolkata (Main counseling centre at Central Health Education Bureau, New Delhi, 2nd centre at JIPMER, Puducherry & 3rd centre at All India Institute of Hygiene & Public Health, Kolkata). The candidates have already exercised the option for personal appearance from any of the above three centres. The counseling committee at New Delhi will interact with the candidates at Puducherry & Kolkata centres when they appear before the counseling committee through videoconference at their merit number when called for personal appearance.
