Colleagues Chip in to Save Scrap Dealer Exposed to Radiation

by Rajshri on Apr 10 2010 8:44 PM

32-year-old scrap dealer Deepak Jain is literally fighting between life and death after being exposed to a huge amount of radiation. Deepak is now at the Apollo Hospital in Delhi after doctors at AIIMS failed to diagnose his condition.

Jain started suffering from nausea, headache, diarrhoea and bouts of vomiting and quickly lost a lot of weight. When he consulted doctors at AIIMS, they did not take proper care of him, allege family members.

"No one was attending to him. The Mayapuri market association collected some money and then we got him admitted to Apollo Hospital," said Rajesh Jain, a cousin of Deepak.

Doctors at Apollo have isolated Deepak so he does not contact any infection, which could prove fatal to him. Rajiv Jain said Deepak's parents and wife are unaware of his condition as his parents are not in good health.
