Burns Ward at Hospital Inaugurated by Former President Kalam

Former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam has inaugurated the burns ward at the Indus Westside Hospital in Bangalore. The new facility at the hospital includes a dedicated burns ward ICU and true isolation ward.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Kalam said most treatment regimens for burns are instituted almost immediately, “Hospital’s working environment has to be transformed using an integrated approach that addresses the mind, body, and spirit. A Hospital should not only provide treatment to patients but also promote healing," he stressed.

 Dr Ashok Jain, Chairman and Managing Director also spoke on the occasion and said, “Besides the burns ward we have also come up with non-conventional high frequency oscillation ventilator. This ventilator helps in treating H1N1, ARDS and pneumonia patients.”

Mr Kalam has called on doctors, nurses and paramedics to ensure that the highest quality of care reaches the rural areas as well.
