A survey has revealed that more than 40% of Brits would happily give up their lovers for a week but certainly not the internet or the virtual world.

The poll, commissioned by OffersSupermarket.co.uk, questioned as many as 2,000 people.

Researchers found one in five would be more upset if their laptop went missing than if they were dumped by their partner, The Sun reported.

Eve Atkins, of OffersSupermarket, confessed the findings were "quite surprising".

But she added: "Once people get used to the practicality of having the internet, it's difficult to go without it for a day let alone a week." (ANI)
