Brits Deny Bedroom Truths

They might be famed for their good looks and charisma, but Brits are terrible, when it comes to telling the truth about the number of sexual partners they have had.

A new survey has shown that Brits are poor bedroom liars, who claim to have slept with fewer people than they really have.

The survey of 5,000 single men and women aged 16 to 35, carried out by onepoll.com, found that the average British man has had 12 sexual partners, but will only confess to eight when dating a new girl.

And the average woman has slept with nine men, but comes clean on only six, when telling a new lover.

However, while men tell their mates the true figure, women seldom own up because one fling will be an encounter she is too ashamed to talk about.

Men are also more likely to have a one-night stand behind their partner's back, the survey showed.

It further revealed that a total of 23 percent of men have cheated at least once, compared with 15 percent of women.

"In this day and age it is worrying that folk find it necessary to lie about something as intimate as how many sexual partners they have had," the Daily Star quoted spokesman John Sewell, as saying.
