Blood Donation is a Perfect Holiday Gift

The American Red Cross has said that the best gift anyone can give during the holidays is to donate blood. Scott Caswell, CEO of the Central Plains Region Red Cross said that blood is needed all through the year for surgeries and trauma cases as well as for cancer patients.

"Blood is available only when generous donors are willing to roll up their sleeves. It truly may be the greatest gift someone receives this holiday season," he added. Blood donation is one of the noblest deeds and the Red Cross is making no bones about the fact that many more donors are needed.

"A blood donation provides a true gift from the heart that can give someone another holiday season with loved ones," Caswell pointed out.
