Ban Possible on Online Purchase of Steroids in UK
The British government is mulling the possibility of banning the purchase of anabolic steroids from the internet after a number of health experts warned over the rising use of the drugs.
More than a quarter of million in the UK have used the drug with the majority of them trying the drug in order to quickly increase their muscle mass. The latest report released by the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD) has also said that a rising number of schoolchildren too are using the product with the report stating that more than 6,000 children are regular users of such drugs.

The chairman of ACMD, Professor Les Iversen said that while steroids seem an easy way of attaining that perfect body, it is harmful in a number of areas including growth and sexual development.

“While the health-related harms associated with these substances are not as severe as with some other drugs, misuse carries significant risks, particularly for young people whose bodies are still developing. More needs to be done to tackle the supply of anabolic steroids and to educate people of the potential dangers”, he added.
