Indian Police Service probationers on Friday took part in an hour-long training camp on yoga in Hyderabad under the guidance of yoga guru Baba Ramdev.
Probationers of the Sardar Vallabhai Patel Police Academy said the workshop benefited them.
"We have a tough life, we need flexibility and these breathing exercises will give us strength. Yoga is necessary for all these. Also it will help us to build concentration," said Preeti Jain, a probationer.
Baba Ramdev performed different "Asanas" (postures), some breathing exercises and yogic methods as he explained the need of yoga to the participants in their day to day life.
"He informed both units about the scientific aspects of yoga, and was very effective in conveying it. Within 60 minutes, he packed so much of stuff. I think we will benefit," said Vijay Kumar, the Director of the Sardar Vallabhbhiai Patel Police Academy.
Baba Ramdev has imparted lessons in asanas and kriyas to thousands of his disciples across the world.
Yoga is an ancient psycho-physical practice that is believed to have become quite a sojourn for a steady development of mind.
