Aussie teenage girls, looking forward to getting a boob-job, will have to wait till they turn 18 to get those perfect twin assets like their favourite celebrity, for the State Government is now adamant on revamping the rules for cosmetic surgery.

The move comes in line with the increasing number of teenagers opting for non-medical procedures in a quest to have perfect features like celebrities.

The new law is intended to make it a little harder for them to succeed in their quest, as the government is trying to put limits to this booming industry catering to the under-18s.

From July 1 onwards, all teenagers looking for cosmetic surgery will have to wait up to three months as part of a cooling-off period to make up their mind and the surgeons luring them through false advertisements will face harsh penalties.

Recently, Queensland's announcement banned all cosmetic surgery for under-18s, and it seems that Health Minister Reba Meagher is thinking about enforcing similar laws.

"I want teenagers undergoing surgery to be able to consider the risks and (discuss the) need for surgery with their parents, without rushing to their decision. I would encourage anyone considering cosmetic procedures to take their time before undergoing surgery," The Daily Telegraph quoted Meagher, as saying.
