6-Year-Old Found Hanging From Playground Equipment Taken To Hospital In Critical Condition
A 6-year old girl who was found hanging by her scarf from playground equipment in Sydney’s west has been taken to hospital in critical condition. The girl was hanging unconsciously from the bars around 8:15 am, when the staff member at Kidz Klub Playland & Cafe in Jamisontown found her.
The girl was attending before-school care at the Abel Street play center when the incident occurred, said a New South Wales police officer. She was playing on the bars when her scarf somehow became wrapped around her neck and the equipment.

"She was discovered by a worker in that position. It's unknown how long she was hanging there for," he said.

It was the girl's headband rather than her scarf that became tangled in the equipment, said another person at the scene. Staff members removed the girl from the equipment and called triple zero.

The girl was stabilized by paramedics before taking her in a road ambulance to The Children's Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition. Investigations into how the incident occurred are going on, said the police. A crime scene at the play center has been set up by police.
