Five of his organs were harvested. The corneas were sent to the Lions eye bank, the liver to BGS Global Hospitals and a kidney each to Sagar Hospital and the Institute of Nephro Urology. A 44-year-old man from Tamil Nadu who was suffering from familial dilated cardiomyopathy received his heart.

A green corridor was created from Sagar Hospital, Jayanagar, to Narayana Health City, Bommasandra.

Dr Julius Punnen, senior cardiothoracic surgeon, who was a part of the 15-member team of Narayana Health City that performed the heart transplant, said, "The green corridor enabled the heart to reach us in a really short time. The four-hour period right from the time you stop circulation of blood in the heart in the donor to the time you activate circulation again, is very critical."
