12-year Boy Given 8 Million Pound as Birth Negligence Compensation
After 12-years Nathan Humphries has been awarded 8 million pounds as compensation by North Staffordshire Hospital, as the midwives at the hospital failed to react to his mother’s raised blood pressure which left him with cerebral palsy and epilepsy.
Due to the high blood pressure his mother suffered an eclamptic fit which led to oxygen deficiency for Nathan in the womb. His parents have said that they would always blame the hospital for this gross blunder which has left their child in a wheelchair.

This is one of the highest-ever compensation awards approved by the High Court, in Manchester. This compensation means a lot for the family as now Nathan can be cared for in the way he needs to for the rest of his life. But still his parents feel that no amount of money can turn back the clock and give Nathan the normal life that he would otherwise have had. Though the settlement will provide financial security for Nathan and peace of mind for his parents that their child will have the proper care he needs for the rest of his life.
