Storyline : A Woman Under The Influence deals with Mabel Longhetti, a Californian housewife who has no place for emotional and creative pursuits in her life and whose pursuits are just concentrated on her husband Nick, and her children. Mabel suffers a nervous breakdown due to this immense dependence and is forced to stay for some time in a mental asylum for about 6 months, while Nick tries his best to keep the family going. Mabel returns home and a good welcome party is organized for her. Mabel is a confused and overwhelmed state and she delivers a good performance that can be attributed to her own life
