Storyline : McMurphy, a man with several assaults to his credit is sentenced to jail term several times. He pretends to be mad to get out of jail but is sent to a mental asylum for treatment. He challenges and resists the strict disciplinarian nurse Ratchet. He tries to rehabilitate fellow inmates but faces the wrath of the nurse.
