What is Thorn's Syndrome ?  

Thorn’s syndrome is a rare disorder resulting from renal tubular damage of unknown cause and is characterized by abnormal loss of sodium chloride from the kidney.


Cause(s) :  Causes are usually unknown. Possible causes could be:
  • Renal cell carcinoma
  • Pyelonephritis
  • Medullary cyst in kidney
Symptoms :  
  • Tanning of the skin
  • Asthenia
  • Weight loss
  • Nausea
Diagnosis and Tests :  
  • Urine test
  • Imaging techniques
