What is Gerstmann's Syndrome ?  

A neurophysiological disorder that presents with symptoms suggesting the presence of in a particular area of the brain.


Cause(s) :  Brain lesions in the dominant hemisphere. Usually after a stroke in adults. In children, causes are unknown.

Symptoms :  
  • Dyscalculia
  • Dysgraphia
  • Finger agnosia
  • Left-right disorientation
  • Some adults may have aphasia (difficulty in expression with speech)
