What is Asherman's Syndrome ?  

Adhesions within the endometrial cavity, causing amenorrhea and infertility.


Cause(s) :  
    a. Post surgery usually after -
  • Cesarean surgery
  • Fibroids /Polyps surgery
  • D&C’s done for miscarriage
  • b. Genital tuberculosis
    c. Schistosomiasis
Symptoms :  
  • Irregular periods
  • Pain during menstruation
  • Repeated miscarriage
  • Infertility
Diagnosis and Tests :  
  • Hysteroscopy
  • Ultrasound
  • Hystero-salpingogram
  • Laparoscopy
