What is Leriches Syndrome ?  

Leriches Syndrome is a form of peripheral artery disease that involves the bifurcation of the abdominal aorta during the transition into the common illiac arteries.


Cause(s) :  
  • Unknown, spontaneous
Symptoms :  
  • Absence or increased pulse rate in femoral artery
  • Pain, discomfort or tiredness in buttock and thighs that occurs during walking and relieved by rest.
  • Impotence
  • Sometimes critical limb ischemia
Diagnosis and Tests :  
  • CT Angiography
  • MR angiography
